Allstate: Houston Drivers More Likely To Have Car Accident
Allstate has released its 2010 Best Drivers Report – but how do Texas cities fare? According to this year’s report, residents of the Rio Grande Valley enjoy the safest driving conditions in the state, with vehicles having a 7.6 percent less likely chance to be involved in a traffic accident than in other cities across the country. Aside from Brownville, McAllen also proved to be a safe city for driving, with motorists having a 4.6 percent less chance of being involved in a car accident.Houston, Texas, did not fare as well, with drivers in that city being 29.5 percent more likely to be involved in a traffic wreck than average. The worst place for drivers in Texas is Garland, where drivers have a 43.6 percent greater chance of having an accident while driving. Garland finished in 181st place out of 200 cities.
Texas did not do well overall in the report – our top city of Brownville was only 36th on the national list, while McAllen was 46th.
