Tensions are swirling lately around whether or not to vaccinate children because of some dubious ingredients currently included in most vaccinations. Adding to the frenzy is the recent H1N1 threat and our desperation to protect ourselves and our loved ones, particularly children, from any danger. While the idea that a quick shot could shield our children from a known danger is appealing, it is difficult to ignore research that points to very real risks to children who receive vaccinations containing the questionable elements. Not to mention that the H1N1 vaccine seems to have been throw together at an alarmingly fast rate, likely too fast to have had proper safety testing.

The big fear regarding vaccinations and children is autism and the culprit is thought to be mercury, in the form of a preservative called thimerosal. Autism is a term that has become all too familiar with parents in recent years, and with good reason. Several studies have been done on rats, mice and primates, giving them proportional vaccinations for their size and age to the ones that human children receive. The results in all but one study have found detrimental neural effects on the animals who received the vaccinations containing thimerosal.
