Dallas Police: We Believe Hairdresser Was Drunk, Crashed Car

A month after a Dallas woman’s body was found in a burnt-out car in a mall parking lot, Texas authorities have reported that they believe the hairdresser’s death was the result of an alcohol-related car accident, not a murder.
 
On November 4, the charred body of 22-year-old Elizabeth Lightfoot was discovered behind a strip mall near Preston Road. Her family, grief-stricken and confused, begged for answers as many wondered what had happened to the young woman and whether foul play could have been involved.
 
This week, however, the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office released their report that categorized the woman’s death as an accident, not a homicide. An autopsy on the body and an investigation revealed that Lightfoot had a blood alcohol level of 0.32 on the night of the car fire – more than four times the legal limit for getting behind the wheel. Dallas authorities now believe that the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol when the car crashed into the parking lot and burst into flames.
 
Her family is not yet convinced that the whole story has been told.
