Dallas Truck Accident Lawyer: Shifting Load Causes Crash
On late Tuesday morning, a truck driver was rushed to a Plano hospital in serious condition. He had just been involved in a one-vehicle big-rig accident on Highway 22 that left him with head injuries, arm injuries, leg injuries, and internal injuries.According to police and local news reports, 65-year-old Clifford Miller was driving east when he drifted into the left lane and then overcorrected. The overcorrection caused the load he was carrying to shift, flipping the truck onto its side and off of the road. Emergency responders worked for an hour to free the pinned trucker from the cab and get him medical care. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Texas truck accidents and shifting loads
Sometimes the dangers of tractor-trailers are invisible from the outside – dangers like improperly packed loads. Like the Texas truck accident described above, a poorly loaded big-rig can turn a simple driver error like an overcorrection into a serious crash. If contents are top-heavy, not properly tamped down, or unbalanced, any shift during the truck’s operation can cause rollovers.

Sometimes the cause of a Texas truck accident is not what it seems at first. If you or a loved one have been harmed in a big-rig crash, make certain that a shifting load was not a cause.
