A Dallas woman is suing a hospital, a doctor, and a counselor for Texas
medical malpractice after she was given a
medication that she said she had allergic reactions to.
According to court records, the woman went to the emergency room at Medical Center of McKinney with a cut wrist on March 29, 2006. It is unclear whether the wrist wounds were self-inflicted. She was then transferred to the nearby Green Oaks hospital where she was examined and given the prescription drug Haldol. Although she told two different doctors that she had
taken the medicine before and had a poor reaction, she was given the drug against her will. After taking the anti-psychotic drug, she suffered from cracked teeth, pain, and mental anguish.
In her
Dallas medical malpractice lawsuit, she has named Green Oaks as well as the two health professionals who treated her: Dr. Doyle Carson and counselor Ruth Lytle.
