A
truck driver in Liberty County was killed this week when a train struck his cab and then caught fire. The
fatal Texas 18-wheeler accident rendered the locomotive non-operational, but all inside the train were spared from serious injury. The cab of the truck was ruined, though the trailer and big rig engine were towed from the scene to be salvaged.
The
TX truck accident accident took place near Dayton, Texas, where the truck was loading equipment onto a set of tracks at the intersection of County Road 622. Texas Police believe that the 18-wheeler driver did not know that he had driven onto the train tracks and did not hear the horn of the approaching train. The eastbound train, which was carrying several rail cars, was not able to stop and slammed into the big rig, carrying it almost a mile down the tracks and starting a vehicle fire.
The deadly
truck and train collision is under investigation by Texas and Liberty County officials.
