Defective Car Seats Recalled After Choking & Laceration Incidents

Car seat manufacturer Britax Child Safety Inc. has recalled a model of their child safety seats after receiving multiple reports of injuries from around the country.

The car seat recall was announced by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, who says that the child safety seat has a brittle chest harness clip that can break. If the car seat clip breaks during a car accident, a child could be injured. In addition, the broken clip can cause cuts, lacerations, and choking hazards. product liability attorney

The company is recalling 23,000 Chaperone Infant car seats, sold between April 2009 and May 2010. The model numbers include E9L95P2 (Red Mill), E9L95P3, E9L95P5 (Cowmooflage), E9L69N9 (Moonstone).

To date, the car seat company has received three reports of the child seat clip scratching children and one report of a child sticking part of the car seat clip in their mouths.
