Dallas Truck Accident On I-35E Driver Escapes Death

A truck driver was lucky to escape with his life after a serious big rig crash on Interstate 35 eastbound this week left a big rig in flames and hanging over a bridge. According to the Dallas Morning News, 59-year-old Randy Pierce was driving his truck on I-35E near Lewisville when the 18-wheeler hit a North Texas Tollway Authority dump truck that was working with a crew along the median. The dump truck struck the other truck’s fuel tank, set the truck on fire, and sent the tractor-trailer halfway over the bridge spanning Highway 121.

Luckily, Pierce jumped from the cab of his truck during the big rig accident, in all probability saving his own life. Only minor injuries were incurred. Pierce was driving a truck for Leap of Faith Transportation, a trucking company based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

It is not yet know who was at fault in the Lewisville truck accident.
