Fort Worth Bus Accident Injures Almost a Dozen
Thank Goodness Everyone's Ok
** This is a guest post by bus rider and Rasansky Law Firm client relations coordinator Steve Wade. **It could have been really bad. As WFAA reported today, last night's Fort Worth buss accident sent ten passengers and the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital with minor injuries. Bus accidents are rare (thankfully), but they usually involve many passengers. Injuries can be compounded.
I was witness to this in 2002, when a bus carrying neighborhood friends of mine crashed into a pillar. Five people were killed, over thirty injured. This incident was a result of driver inattention / fatigue - and it was a sad day in my life.
While last night's bus wreck is still being investigated, the FTA report's the bus was hit by a Nissan while driving through a green light. Again, thankfully, it seems no one was severely injured. This is probably because DFW buses are designed as small fortresses. This gives me a certain amount of comfort - because I ride one to work every day.
