Hutto Daycare Owner Still Fighting Texas Child Care Abuse Claims

The Hutto daycare provider who has been accused of multiple counts of Texas daycare abuse has filed an injunction with a Williamson County judge asking to reopen her daycare center, Hippo Academy daycare in Hutto, Texas. Currently, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has closed her childcare business indefinitely and sent owner Jeannie Alcalar a letter saying that her daycare license will be revoked.

Alaclar’s attorney argued that a hearing has not yet been scheduled and that no evidence against Alcalar has been produced. In addition, three employees told parents pulling up to the daycare that a tape showed the woman abusing their children. Many believe that the employees have filed Texas daycare abuse claims in order to get back at her for threatening to fire them. Among other allegations, Alcalar is accused of giving black pepper to infants as punishment and putting a cloth over a baby’s mouth.
