Irving Police suspect that
drinking and driving was the reason for a late-night collision on Walton Walker Boulevard with an Irving, Texas, fire truck. The car and truck accident took place on Monday morning near the intersection with Highway 183.
The pickup truck and fire truck accident occurred a few minutes before three in the morning, when a man driving south slammed into the fire truck. The fire truck was being used as a “blocker” as emergency crews responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident just ahead of the truck. Both men in the pickup truck had to be rescued by firemen and were injured in the
TX car accident. No firefighters were injured, and authorities say the pickup truck accident could have been much worse had the vehicle crashed into the accident scene just ahead.
The
pickup truck accident remains under investigation by Texas Police, though no charges have been filed at this time.
