Montgomery County Slows Search for Man Who Wandered From Nursing Home
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has announced that they will shrink the search operation of a Texas nursing home resident who wandered from his facility last week.
According to Houston news sources, 73-year-old Virgilo Kison wandered out of an exit door of the Pine Shadow Retreat Nursing Home on the evening of August 21. Rescuers have been organizing search parties in the area ever since. However, after more than two weeks of searching, authorities have stopped using the services of Texas EquuSearch, a search and rescue organization based in Houston.
Kison is a Pacific Islander. He was last wearing a white, short-sleeved, button-up shirt and tan slacks the last time he was seen. He suffers from a number of physical and mental health issues which make it imperative that he is found, including schizophrenia, dementia, Parkinson's disease and diabetes.
Anyone with information on Virgilo Kirson is urged to call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at (936) 760-5876.
Sadly, Texas nursing home wandering incidents are more common than you might think. In some cases, they are the result of a short-staffed and negligent nursing home that does not properly care for its residents.
