A dramatic
Dallas truck accident that took place on the Sam Rayburn Tollway last month has lead to the firing of a dump truck operator who caused the big rig crash. The truck driver was fired by the North Texas Tollway Authority, who said that their internal investigation showed that their employee, Abebe Sbhat, had engaged in an unsafe act.
The
Texas truck accident took place on April 8, 2010 at the Interstate 35E interchange with State Highway 121 in Lewisville, Texas. The dump truck driven by Sbhat collided with a tractor-trailer when then ran into a concrete barrier and caught on fire. The driver of the 18-wheeler jumped out of the vehicle before it
slammed into the retaining wall, possibly saving his own life.
A spokesman from the Texas Department of Public Safety said that Sbhat was cited for an improper start from a parked truck position.
