Paralyzed Prairie View A&M University Student Sues Insurance Company

premise liability lawyerA Texas cheerleader who attended Prairie View A&M University is suing Mutual of Omaha after the young man was paralyzed during a practice. Although Wesley Patterson was seriously injured on school property while tumbling in 2008 and was covered by the insurance company in case of a serious injury caused by the school’s negligence, Mutual of Omaha is refusing to pay for his claim.

A federal lawsuit was filed by Patterson’s personal injury attorney against the insurance company on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, regarding the serious injury claim. Neither Mutual of Omaha or Prairie View agreed to comment on the Texas personal injury lawsuit.

It is very important to know your insurance policy and understand that some insurance companies will deny or reduce valid claims. If you believe that your insurance company is denying your rightful injury claim, contact us today.
