Texan Killed In Wrong Way Crash On Highway 195

According to the Killeen Daily News, one man was killed and two others were injured in a two-car accident allegedly caused by a wrong way driver.

Local news and the Killeen Police Department report that the head-on accident took place just after midnight on South Fort Hood Street when one driver proceeded down the wrong side of the street, striking an oncoming car. The 36-year-old driver of the wrong way vehicle was airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple but was pronounced dead a few hours later. The driver’s passenger, a 24-year-old man, suffered only minor injuries in the crash and has been treated and released from Metroplex Hospital. The driver of the car with the right of way, a 26-year-old man, remains in serious condition.

It is unclear what caused the driver to go the wrong way down the street, though alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The accident is under investigation.

Many Texans do not realize how common – or how dangerous – wrong way highway driving is. Some of the common causes of wrong way driving are alcohol, drugs, elderly drivers, and poor road design.

If you have been injured in a Texas car accident that involved a wrong way driver, you should speak with a Dallas car accident attorney as soon as possible. The Rasansky Law Firm offers injury victims a free, private meeting to discuss their case and get the answers they need.
