Texas Family Sues Seatbelt Maker After Deadly Car Crash
Three family members are suing a seatbelt manufacturer after they say a faulty seatbelt system caused their loved one to die in a Texas rollover car accident four years ago.According to the Southeast Texas Record, Tyler resident Sandra Dozier was driving on Highway 31 in Smith County in March 2007 when she lost control of her car and left the roadway. The car rolled over and Dozier was fatally injured even though she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Texas woman was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with a TRW Vehicle Safety Systems restraint system. Her three family members, Clint Bryant, Kimberly Tabb, Ann Anderson and James Dozier, filed a products liability lawsuit that claims that the seatbelt maker produced a flawed, dangerous, and defective seatbelt – and that Dozier would have been survived the accident if not for her faulty restraint system.
The defective product lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
