Texas Girl Mauled By Dog After Climbing Fence
A six-year-old Van, Texas, girl was left with serious injuries after she was attacked by a neighbor’s dog. According to KLTV, the dog bite incident occurred on Wednesday in West Texas when the girl, Morgan Freeman, climbed a fence into another person’s backyard while playing with a friend. She was attacked by a St. Bernard-Bernese mix.The girl was left with puncture wounds on her back, arm, and leg. She was rushed to the hospital for surgery on her leg – her family and her doctors do not yet know the long-term consequences of her dog bite wounds. The dog was shot and killed as neighbors tried to get the dog off of the girl. The dog's body will be tested for rabies.
It is unknown why the child climbed the fence, whether the girl provoked the dog, or whether the dog had a history of aggressive behavior with other dogs or humans.
