Two Dead In 18-Wheeler Accident In Calvert, Texas

Two young students were killed in a car and truck accident on Highway 6 about fifty miles outside of Waco, Texas.

The fatal truck accident took place near Calvert, Texas, when 21-year-old Rachel Ripley Yasso of Montgomery and 22-year-old Trace Cole Thornton of Spring were driving northbound behind a semi truck. When the 18-wheeler slowed down to turn right, the car, driven by Yasso, slammed into the back of the trailer, killing both girls. The girls were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a medical examiner and transported to Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne. The truck driver, Bobby Ray Perry of Fort Worth, suffered only minor injuries in the crash. The Texas Department of Public Safety said that the truck wreck was under investigation.
