A man recklessly performing a wheelie on his
motorcycle in Dallas struck a pedestrian on Tuesday night, May 18, killing both the rider and the man on foot.
Dallas Police say that 38-year-old Lashon Hudson was speeding and doing a front wheelie on Bonnie View Road in Dallas at around 10 PM when he hit 45-year-old Paul Bellard as he was crossing the street. Both were knocked many feet away from the
TX motorcycle accident – Hudson was knocked into an intersecting street while Bellard was knocked over the median. The bike flew out of control and hit a traffic sign. Both men died of their injuries after emergency responders rushed them to the hospital.
Police say that the motorcycle and
pedestrian accident could have been prevented – both if the motorcycle rider had not been participating in reckless behavior, and if the pedestrian had crossed at a lit, designated crosswalk.
