Millions of people enjoy drinking beer or spirits, especially during social gatherings and celebrations. Many of these people will risk facing DUI charges. Others will become an unwilling participant of a drunk driving accident. Even though the legal drinking limit for
drunk driving is a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08, many impaired individuals drive when past this limit.
According to
Mothers Against Drunk Driving, three in every 10 Americans will be involved in an alcohol-related vehicle accident in their lives. In 2008, an estimated 11,773 people died due to DUI crashes. These are such startling drunk driving statistics given the amount of vehicles on the road today.
Alcohol Alert states Texas as the state with the most drunk driving deaths with a total of 1,544 in 2006.
