What Are Truck No Zones?
A: Truck “no zones” are the areas surrounding a big rig that are dangerous for other cars to be in due to the increased risk of an accident. The first no zone is located directly behind the tractor-trailer – and area where a truck driver cannot see you and where you are at risk of slamming into the back of the truck if it stops suddenly. The second no zone is located directly in front of an 18-wheeler – since trucks cannot stop suddenly due to their size and weight, it is easy for truck to rear-end vehicles who do not give them enough room. The final two no zones are located diagonally behind the truck on the left and right sides – large blind spots where a truck driver may not see your vehicles.
