You Deserve Total Legal Protection - You Need Legal Shield
While legal insurance plans have been around for years, many people are either unaware of their existence, or are confused about the value they offer. For example, many companies provide legal insurance plans for their employees without them even realizing they have it or what it does.
What Are Legal Insurance Plans?
While plans can vary depending on the provider and options you choose, legal insurance plans offer reduced or no cost legal services for tasks such as creating a will. These are situations where you should definitely consult a lawyer, but it may be cost prohibitive to hire one. Legal insurance plans give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have an attorney available to protect your rights, regardless of the situation.
When Would I Use One?
Have you ever been in a dispute with a business? At odds with your neighbor? Been scammed? Had a breach of contract? Been harassed by a debt collection company? Had your identity breached? Have you ever just wanted to know what your rights are in a potential legal matter?
These are all reasons people want to hire an attorney, but typically won’t or can’t because the cost outweighs the damages. Who’s going to pay $300 to get a letter written to collect $100 or to just ask a simple question? This is where a legal insurance plan comes in. These are all situations where a legal insurance plan would help.
What Provider Do You Recommend?

Legal Shield, previously Pre-Paid Legal, enables you to have an attorney “on retainer” in exchange for an affordable monthly fee. Not all legal services are included in the monthly fee, but most of them are, especially the services that don’t allow for the hiring of an outside attorney. Here are a few of the highlights we found impressive about Legal Shield:
- Each state is set up with a provider law firm
- Members can contact their provider law firm for any type of legal consultation at no cost
- The member will get a call from a licensed attorney advising them of their rights, choices and what they can do either at no cost or in some cases at a discounted rate
- Document review, Letters of Demand, Cease and Desist Letters, Wills, Medical Directives, and Power of Attorney are all typically provided at no cost
Legal Shield gives consumers a way to arm themselves should they find themselves in a situation where it would be best to consult with an attorney. We were so impressed we signed up for it ourselves.
