Truck Accident Closes Down I-30

A driver wrecked while headed west down the eastbound lane of I-30, near the 2nd Avenue ramps, in the early morning hours of August 5, and closed down traffic for rush hour, according to press reports. The driver collided with an 18-wheeler, causing an accident that forced Hazmat crews to come out and do a clean-up of diesel fuel that leaked from the truck. The accident reveals quite a bit about how some common crashes happen.

Unforeseen Hazards

Most of the time, good drivers are on the lookout for common hazards. These include roads that are in poor condition, drunk and distracted drivers and so forth. There are those hazards, however, that you'll never see coming until it's too late. A driver heading at you down a one-way road is an example of this. If you spent all of your time bracing for that driver and being overly-cautious, you'd likely constitute a hazard to other drivers in an of yourself!

There is always an element of the unpredictable to contend with when you're out on the road. They make left-hand turns from right-hand lanes, back out into traffic without checking and cause all kinds of mayhem.
