Cell Phone, Alcohol Factors In Deadly Dallas Car Rollover Accident

A man that survived a deadly accident on Interstate 20 in Dallas said that the driver of the car that crashed was talking on the cell phone and under the influence of alcohol at the time that he lost control of the vehicle.
According to a local news station, Gerald Williams of Cedar Hill was on a ramp from highway 67 to I-20 when he lost control of his pickup truck, which flipped off of the highway. Williams was ejected from the vehicle and landed face down in a puddle of water, where he was rescued by two passing motorists who saw the accident. Williams was rushed to a nearby Dallas hospital, but died of his car accident injuries.
Another passenger in the car, who was wearing his seat belt, suffered serious injuries in the accident and had to be cut out of the mangled vehicle. He told Dallas County Sheriff's Deputies that the driver had been talking to a friend on his cell phone and that the two had just left a bar. The wreck occurred at around 2:30 in the morning on Friday.
The male passenger in the vehicle was not identified. The Dallas car accident is still under investigation.
