South Arlington Twins & Teen Girl Die in Fiery Texas Car Accident

Posted on Oct 26, 2011

An Arlington community is in mourning after a horrific late-night car accident on Southeast Green Oaks Boulevard left two twin brothers and a teenage girl dead. Two other young men were seriously injured.

According to the Dallas Morning News, 21-year-old twin brothers Stephen and Michael Eckel were in the front seats of a Honda Accord at 3 a.m. on Monday morning when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Arlington Police say that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident. It split into two pieces and caught fire upon contact with the tree.

Both twin brothers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while a backseat passenger, 19-year-old Danielle Ruthstrom, died of her injuries after being transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Two other young men, ages 17 and 21, were injured in the crash.

Police say that a bottle of alcohol was found at the scene of the fatal Texas car accident. Speed and drinking were probable factors in the accident, which remains under investigation.

The Dallas traffic accident attorneys at Rasansky Law Firm hold the victims of this terrible accident in their thoughts and prayers.
