In East Houston, another man was killed in a Texas traffic accident related to the weather. In this case, a 30-year-old man stepped out of his car on the shoulder of the highway to inspect his car for damage after it slid off of the road and struck a guardrail. While he was out of his car, another vehicle lost control on the snowy roads and slammed into the man’s car, pinning the man against the guardrail and killing him.

All in all, Houston Police said that they responded to 750 car accidents in just over 12 hours after the ice storm struck the area. Sixty-eight of those car accidents involved injuries. Houston Police even reported that several of the accidents that took place involved vehicles hitting police cruisers that were stopped to help other accident victims.
