Three Serious Traffic Accidents Reported In Bryan, Texas, Area

The Bryan Police Department reported that 40-year-old Wendy Dean of Benchley, Texas, was killed in a one-vehicle accident in the first hours of Sunday morning, August 21. Authorities say that the woman was traveling on the North Earl Rudder Freeway near the intersection of Highway 21 when she lost control of her vehicle, ran off of the road, and rolled her car several times. The woman was partially ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
In a second fatal traffic accident in the area, 26-year-old Michael Leroy Long II was killed in a one-car accident on Chisolm Trail Road on Brazos County early on July 31. The Department of Public Safety believe that the man was speeding when he lost control of his car not long after midnight, sliding off of the road and rolling. Long was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was not wearing his seat belt.
Finally, in a third Bryan-area accident this month, an unidentified 26-year-old woman was struck by a station wagon on Friday night, August 19. According to officials, the unidentified woman was crossing East 29th street near Dairy Queen at around nine in the evening when a driver allegedly did not see the pedestrian in the street. The accident also involved two other cars, both of which were attempting to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
