Work-Related Deaths: Declining in Texas

Posted on Nov 09, 2011

This past month 2010 Texas Business Hall of Fame reported that the Texas Department of Insurance officials saw a 5 percent decrease in work-related deaths between 2010 and 2009.

Work Injury AttorneyDeclining fatality rates indicate that employers are on the right track. However, you should still keep the risks of work-related injuries or even fatalities in mind. According to the Department of Labor, 456 Texas workers lost their lives in work-related incidents in 2010.  That's nearly 10% of the overall 4,547 work-related fatalities across the nation this year. The majority of deaths were the result of transportation incidents. Assault, equipment and on-the-jobs falls were also leading causes in work related fatalities.

Texas is the only state that does not require employers to carry worker's compensation insurance. Be aware of what you and your loved ones' policies are. If a loved one has been injured or even killed while at work, please contact the Texas based lawyers at the Rasansky Law Firm at 1-877-405-4313 and we will provide you with a free consultation.
