When paramedics arrived, they found a 41-year-old male responsive on the roadway. He was lying on the shoulder with his bicycle a short distance away. The injured party sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled without providing aid, but authorities were able to identify the vehicle due to debris left at the scene. The suspect, 28-year-old Luciano Tapia, was later apprehended by authorities and was charged with a second-degree felony accident involving death. No further updates have been provided. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
