Amarillo, TX – Woman Fatally Hit by Tractor-Trailer on I-40

Amarillo, TX (March 10, 2023) – On Monday, March 6, a woman was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer in the Amarillo area on Interstate 40. 

The fatal accident took place just after 6:30 a.m. when a 20-year-old woman rear-ended a rental truck on the interstate. The impact left her vehicle disabled. It was then that a tractor-trailer towing three truck tractors hit the passenger side of the woman’s vehicle. 

The driver was ejected, and she sustained fatal injuries in the collision. She was later pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The other driver was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital for treatment. 

No additional information has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the deadly truck accident is in progress.
