Childress, TX - Three Dead, One Hurt in Crash with Mack Truck on US-287

The fatal accident took place on US-287 at around 10 a.m. It was reported that a 2016 Mack truck towing a semi-trailer was traveling northwest through a construction zone. A 2019 Subaru Ascent and a 2016 Ford Escape were traveling behind the commercial truck.

Traffic on the highway was moving slowly, and it was then that a 2013 Kenworth truck towing a semi-trailer collided with the Ford. This caused a chain reaction collision, and the Subaru became trapped between the two semi-trucks. The driver and passenger of the Subaru, 68-year-old Bradley Nevil and 61-year-old Sheri Nevil of McKinney, and the driver of the Escape, 54-year-old Patrick Scrivener of Troup, were killed in the collision.

The operator of the Kenworth, 47-year-old Vicente Barcenas of Perryton, was transported to Childress Regional Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

An ongoing crash investigation is in progress.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
