The accident was reported near the North Loop Freeway at the 6001 block of Homestead Road at around 1:48 a.m. It was revealed that an 18-wheeler on the roadway attempted to make a U-turn when it was hit from behind by an oncoming vehicle. The woman driving the car was trapped inside the vehicle for almost 30 minutes as emergency responders worked to rescue her.
She was later extricated from the car and transported to a local hospital for treatment. No additional information has been revealed at this time.
