The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Wayside Drive and Ley Road at around 2 p.m. It was reported that an 18-wheeler was headed westbound at the 7900 block of Ley Road waiting to make a left turn. It was then that the truck hit a pedestrian in her 50s.
The woman sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in progress.
