The ambulance was reportedly trying to turn onto FM 3338 when it was hit by an oncoming trailer. Two paramedics in the Angel Care ambulance were injured in the collision. Both were hospitalized for treatment. One of the injured parties was airlifted to Rio Grande Valley Hospital in critical condition. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
