Deadly Semi-Truck Crashes in Texas
Texas has seen a sharp rise in the number of fatal trucking accidents, and the state continues to face a severe problem with these crashes. A total of 716 people died as a result of the 579,568 semi-truck crashes that were reported in the state between 2009 and 2021. Texas has over twice as many trucking-related fatalities as California, which is the state with the second-highest number of fatal collisions. The state is heavily traveled and plays a vital part in the country’s transportation system. Most cargo transported by tractor-trailers could not move from coast to coast without the big rigs that traverse the state’s roadways.
