In about 75% of fatal collisions involving fire trucks, someone in the other vehicle is killed. Around 31,600 collisions involving fire trucks occurred between 2000 and 2009; 49 of these crashes resulted in at least one fire vehicle occupant dying, and rollover accidents account for 66% of all fire truck accidents.
Fire truck accidents can occur in congested areas when firemen rush to save the lives of people trapped inside a burning structure. Every year, there are, on average, 30,000 firetruck collisions. It is risky for you to get involved in a fire truck accident because these big vehicles are likely to roll over and might have a significant influence on your car.
