It is hard to drive in Texas without sharing the road with a massive commercial truck. The state, unfortunately, has the highest rate of trucking fatalities in the nation. Texas plays a key role in the transport of goods across the United States, and the majority of cargo is transferred by truck. There are more than 2 million trucks on American roadways on any given day. An estimated 300 fatal trucking accidents are reported each year in Texas, with more than 15,000 semi-truck crashes occurring annually, contributing to 2,000 injuries. This is almost one injury in every seven accidents and a fatality in every 50 accidents. It is common for collisions involving 18-wheelers to result in serious or fatal injuries. You need to make sure you take an immediate response if you or a loved one is injured in a trucking accident. You need to be able to show the person responsible for the crash acted negligently in some way. This is a difficult task to do on your own, but an experienced lawyer will know exactly how to collect the relevant evidence needed and construct a strong argument in favor of your recovery. Injury cases involving a large tractor-trailer are far different than a typical auto accident claim. Trucking companies and truck drivers have to comply with both local and federal regulations, and your attorney needs to understand the ins and outs of the legal system and how it relates to these types of collisions. It can be difficult to determine who is responsible for a trucking collision due to the fact that there are so many different parties involved. Your lawyer is there to identify all potential parties who may have played a role in your accident.
