Texas Rollover Accidents
Even though rollover collisions make up less than 3 percent of all auto accidents, they are responsible for over 33 percent of fatal auto accidents in the country. Most of these fatalities involve unrestrained passengers. Rollover crashes claimed 7,640 lives in the United States in 2021, accounting for almost 29 percent of all passenger vehicle occupant fatalities in that year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that there are over 280,000 rollover crashes in the United States every year. Major rollover collisions have increased dramatically in recent years, and some have linked this rise to the growing popularity of SUVs, pickup trucks, and other top-heavy vehicles.
