Salado, TX - Teen Driver Killed in Pileup Crash on FM 2843

Salado, TX (August 26, 2023) - On Thursday, August 24, a teen driver was killed after a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck outside of Salado. 

The deadly accident was reported on Farm to Market Road 2843 early that morning at around 7:30 a.m. Local sources indicated that a 17-year-old driver was headed westbound when they attempted to pass another vehicle. The motorist collided with a van containing two adults and two juveniles before crashing head-on with an oncoming semi-truck. 

The 17-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported at this time. 

The identity of the deceased party has not been provided at this time. No additional information has been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
