Terrell, TX (May 28, 2023) - On Friday, May 26, a truck driver was killed after being involved in a three-vehicle crash in Terrell.
The deadly accident occurred on US-80 near County Road 310 at around 3:15 p.m. A semi-truck was reportedly traveling westbound and hit a trailer towed by a pickup truck that was stopped due to another accident. It was then that the semi-truck was hit by another tractor-trailer.
The operator of the second rig sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional information has been provided at this time.
Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
Sharing the road with a large tractor-trailer can be hazardous for anyone, particularly those riding in passenger cars. Nearly 98 percent of the approximately 500,000 semi-truck collisions that take place across the nation each year involve someone riding outside of the rig. About 130,000 Americans suffer injuries from semi-truck collisions each year, and families of those killed in such collisions may be eligible to make a claim for damages.
Losing a family member can seem like someone that is nearly impossible to bear. Many families do not even consider filing a claim for damages following a fatal trucking accident. However, you might discover in the future that someone else's carelessness, recklessness, or misconduct was to blame for your loved one's tragic death. If this is the case, the offender or party in question should be held responsible.
