Amarillo, TX (January 24, 2021) – One person was left severely injured following a fire incident on Saturday evening in the Amarillo area. Just after 8 p.m., on January 23, the Amarillo Fire Department was requested to provide assistance at the scene of a fire incident.
Reports show that a two-alarm fire occurred at 1540 Bell Street. Crews arrived at the scene and began to battle the blaze aggressively. Within 30-minutes, firefighters were able to declare the incident under control.
Firefighters were able to enter the home and locate one person inside. The victim sustained critical burn and inhalation injuries in the incident. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Two other people were not transported to area hospitals for further assistance.
Seven dogs were also removed from the home but were not injured. At this time, the Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
