Abilene, TX (March 9, 2020) – The victim killed in a late-night pedestrian accident on Friday has been identified by police.
At around 10:30 p.m., on March 6, emergency crews were called to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on the Winters Freeway. Reports indicate that Jose Lupe Alvarado, Jr. was attempting to cross the freeway, near 1st Street, when he was struck by a 2011 Buick Lacrosse.
Alvarado was fatally injured in the collision and sadly declared deceased at the scene.
The 18-year-old female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police during their early investigation.
