Bastrop, TX (February 26, 2020) – The victim who lost their life in the horrific pedestrian accident on Saturday has been identified by police.

On February 22, at approximately 6:37 p.m., authorities rushed to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on State Highway 304. Reports indicate that 37-year-old Sergio Mayo was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a 1995 Saturn, which was traveling north.

Mayo suffered critical injuries and was transported to Ascension Seton Hospital for treatment. Sadly, authorities confirmed that Mayo succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

At this time, police are investigating.
