Gaines County, TX (March 3, 2020) – A motor vehicle collision Sunday evening sadly claimed one teen’s life.
On March 1, just after 7 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on US Highway 82/180. Reports state that two vehicles were traveling east along the roadway at the same time an 18-year-old male pedestrian was attempting to cross the road.
The teen, who was identified as Zane Roberson, was struck by a motor vehicle. As the vehicle slowed down after the collision, it was struck by a second vehicle.
Roberson was seriously injured in the crash. He was rushed to Lea Regional Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries after arriving.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Zane Roberson. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
