Knox County, TX (February 3, 2021) – One man has lost his life following a motor vehicle accident on Monday morning in Knox County. At around 6:25 a.m., on February 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash on US Highway 82.
Reports from authorities show that 79-year-old Donnie Edward Ryder was traveling on US Highway 82 in a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu when his vehicle collided with a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer at the intersection with Texas State Highway 6.
Ryder was severely injured as a result of the accident. The man was rushed to Knox County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 37-year-old Derek T Williams, was not injured in this accident.
At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
