Lubbock, TX (February 26, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident Monday evening claimed one victim’s life.
Just before 3 p.m., on February 24, the Lubbock Police Department responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident in the 7500 block of Slide Road. Reports indicate that 69-year-old Howard Wright was passing through the intersection of Slide Road and 75th Street when his Nissan Murano was struck by a Dodge Charger, driven by 19-year-old Xavier Montalvo.
Wright was rushed to University Medical Center for treatment but was sadly declared deceased shortly after arriving.
Montalvo was transported to Covenant Medical Center where he was admitted for moderate injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
