San Antonio, TX (March 12, 2020) – A father lost his life and his son was seriously injured in a drunk-driving accident Tuesday evening. At around 9:30 p.m., on March 10, the San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene of a devastating auto collision on Nacogdoches Road.
Reports from the SAPD indicate that a Toyota Tacoma, driven by Jeanne-Nicole Coutros, was traveling erratically along the roadway when it collided with a second vehicle at the intersection with Friesenhahn Court.
The driver of the second vehicle, who was identified as a 24-year-old man, and his father, 59-year-old Rodney Rheiner, were both rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Sadly, Rheiner succumbed to his injuries after arriving. His son suffered life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.
Coutros was arrested for suspicion of DWI.
SAPD is currently investigating.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family of Rodney Rheiner.
