Just before 5 p.m., on March 4, the San Antonio Police Department was called to the scene of an auto accident in the 3500 block of West Avenue.
Reports from SAPD show that a black Acura MDX was traveling at a high rate of speed down the road when it rear-ended a Ford Fusion in the southbound lanes.
The impact of the crash sent the Ford into a telephone pole along the side of the road.
Sadly, the driver of the Ford, who was identified as 61-year-old Rosalva Tamez, suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
SAPD is currently investigating the accident at this time.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Rosalva Tamez. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
