San Marcos, TX (March 24, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Monday left one victim injured. On March 23, at around 1:30 p.m., emergency crews in San Marcos responded to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 35.
Reports indicate that San Marcos Police Officer Paul Beller was dispatched to the area to clear lumber from the roadway. As Beller exited his vehicle, he was struck by a passenger car.
Beller suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby trauma center. He was forced to undergo surgery and is currently hospitalized.
At this time, police are investigating.
