This is particularly true in cases where victims end up passing away as a result of their injuries. Every year, more than 3,600 people lose their lives in auto accidents across our state. Unfortunately, more than 600 of those fatally injured are pedestrians. Our state’s total of pedestrian fatalities accounts for nearly 10% of the deaths nationally, every year. Regardless of how many laws and regulations are put in place, we continue to see victims lose their lives at an alarming rate. These accidents are often devastating due to the fact that victims are unprotected against the impact of vehicles in collisions.
